Empowering Education Together: Babu Dilip’s 15 Lakh INR Scholarship Awards and 1 Crore Commitment to 300 Students, Celebrating Community Support at the August 18, 2024 Event

In 2023, Mr. Neelakanadan, Co-Founder of the Sourashtra Engineers and Technologists Network (SETN), approached Babu Dilip with a compelling opportunity to support the education of financially disadvantaged students. SETN, an organization founded by retired engineers from the Sourashtra community, serves as a bridge between sponsors and students in need, helping those who cannot afford college fees by connecting them with willing sponsors.

SETN facilitates this process by inviting applications from students through a Google form, carefully reviewing each submission, and shortlisting students based on merit and financial need. These shortlisted students are then broadcasted to sponsors, who have the option to connect directly with the students and provide scholarships.

For the June 2024 semester, SETN successfully found sponsors for 479 students. However, many students remained without assistance due to a lack of available sponsors. Moved by this need, Babu Dilip offered to provide scholarships to all remaining students, ensuring that every deserving applicant received the support they needed. To celebrate this impactful initiative, a grand function was held on August 18, 2024, to formally present the scholarships.

The event was a memorable occasion, attended by 300 students, accompanied by their families. Babu Dilip and his wife, Ms. Ramya, personally handed each scholarship cheque to the students, underscoring the personal commitment and care they feel for this cause. The event was thoughtfully organized, with snacks, lunch, and goodie bags provided for all attendees, creating an atmosphere of warmth and celebration.

In his address to the students, Babu Dilip spoke passionately about the transformative power of education. His key messages emphasized:

4.Commitment to Continued Support: In a remarkable gesture, Babu pledged to support all 300 students through the remainder of their college education, committing to cover their fees for upcoming semesters, an investment expected to total 1 crore INR over the next three years.
