On 3rd December 2025, the newly constructed building at Prasanna Colony
Government Middle School, Madurai, was officially inaugurated by the Madurai
District Collector Mr Praveeen Kumar I.A.S marking a proud and transformative moment
for the school and the surrounding community. The new facility now serves over 400
students from Grades 1 to 8 , offering a safe, modern, and dignified learning
environment for children studying in both Tamil and English mediums.
During his visit in 2023, Babu Dilip witnessed the challenges faced by the
school—overcrowded classrooms, unsafe structures that had to be abandoned, and inadequate
toilet facilities. Due to the lack of space, Tamil and English medium students were forced
to share classrooms, making teaching and learning increasingly difficult.
Moved by these realities, Babu committed ₹1.4 crore to construct a 6,200 sq. ft. new school
building that directly addressed these fundamental needs. The project was approved under
Namma Ooru Namma Palli, with the Boomi Pooja conducted in May 2024.
A Building Designed for Learning and Dignity
The completed facility includes a multipurpose hall, six well-ventilated classrooms across two floors, separate toilets for boys and girls, and fully furnished classrooms with proper lighting, fans, tables, and chairs—creating an environment where students can learn with focus, comfort, and pride.
Creating Lasting Impact
This new building stands as more than an infrastructure upgrade. It reflects Babu Dilip’s belief that education is the most powerful force for social upliftment. By strengthening the foundation of a government school that serves hundreds of families, this initiative helps open doors to opportunity, confidence, and a brighter future for generations of children in Prasanna Colony.
